Enjoying a Tax-Free Retirement

There's an old saying that the only sure things in life are Death and Taxes.  As a licensed, accredited Insurance and Financial professional... I can help you with both!

But seriously... a Tax-Free Retirement?  I can almost hear the snickers, but let me assure you that a Tax-Free Retirement is not only possible - we've been helping our clients achieve this for many, many years.  The information we share will rock your financial world like nothing else you have ever seen. Fail to implement this knowledge to your advantage and you will kick yourself later. That's a promise.

Lately we've been hearing a lot about Retirement Planning. Our government has been making a lot of noise about 401(k) plans, IRAs, SEPs, and other Pension Plans you now own. They want to roll all of them into something called a GRA - a government retirement account - which would give them more control over a bigger pot of money.  Other rumors talk of removing the tax benefits of 401(k) plans entirely.

As you know, Social Security and Medicare are in financial trouble.  The National Debt has never been higher and it continues to grow daily.  It has been said that unless radical changes are made soon, the massive debt problems and unrest we are seeing overseas will eventually show up on American soil. It's clear that something must be done - either government spending programs need to be cut back or taxes will need to be increased...  and I think we all know where this is headed.

Over the past 50 years, we've seen top tax rates here in America in the 70% to 90% range.  Let's hope we don't revisit those days.  Nonetheless, it's safe to say that income tax rates here in the Land of The Free & Home of The Brave are probably heading higher.  Possibly, a lot higher.

One problem with this is that it is completely outside of our control.  There is not a lot we can do about the tax rates and worrying about it certainly won't change anything.  The one thing we can do is adjust our thinking and structure our financial lives in such a way to lessen the impact of an increase in our tax system.

We refer to this as Tax-Diversification.  Our three choices are Taxable, Tax-Deferred, and Tax-Free.  Many of our strategies simply involve shifting assets from one pocket to another... from taxable to tax-deferred or tax-free thereby lessening or eliminating the impact taxes will have on our financial futures.  Our Exploring A Tax-Free Retirement fact sheet offers an enlightening comparison.

We're looking forward to seeing you soon.  I'll have the coffee on.
